A Gluecon Call for Papers - kinda
I told you I was going to dig in. And, not being a programmer, that ain't easy (I am, after all, just a lowly marketing guy). I'm in the process of researching a whole crapload of protocols, toolkits, research projects, frameworks, and APIs. And then it hit me: my growing list of stuff to learn about would probably sketch a "universe" of topics for gluecon. Now, with both Gluecon and Defrag, I don't really do a "call for papers." Rather, I have conversations and the agenda evolves. But for gluecon this year, I want to be bombarded, swamped, drowning in possibilities. As such, call this a "call for papers" for Gluecon.About what? Well, the stuff that "glues together" web apps, data, infrastructures and UIs in a "post-cloud" world. What does that mean, specifically? I'm not really sure, but the following list should start to give you an idea of what I'm looking for...Twitter APIDrizzleJQueryCouchDBTornado (the FB kind, not the weather phenom)XMPPMongoDBMySpace APISalesforce API (and force.com platform/language)Windows AzureWindows Geneva (I know that has a real name now, but I forget what it is)LinkedIn APIPythonDojoDjangoMuleJSONJRubyOAuth/WRAPSalmonYAMLEucalyptusSPDY/ChromiumPUSH (pubsubhubbub)Activity StreamsSAMLOpenID....and yes, I know I'm missing a bunch...but this should be enough to get you started.Submit ideas (a paragraph and title?) to me at enorlin AT mac.com.
